The Amber Flag Amber Flag

The Pieta Amber Flag Initiative | Pieta

We are very excited to announce that here at St. Mary’s N.S., we are embarking on a new adventure. Following on from the success of the Active School Flag and the Green Flag, we are now taking on the challenge of obtaining an Amber Flag.

The Amber Flag aims to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for all the children in the school. Positive wellbeing means feeling good in your body and your mind, getting on well with others, feeling grateful for everything you have, enjoying life and feeling proud of who you are.

Our school has an Amber Flag Committee made up of teachers and students. The Amber Flag Committee are busy planning and organising lots of fun activities to promote positive mental health in our school and help improve our overall wellbeing.

Our aims and objectives are…

  • To create an Amber Flag notice board in the school, promoting positive mental health strategies.
  • To hold a fundraising event for Pieta House and a Wellbeing Day to promote positive mental health in our school.
  • To hold a ‘Design a Poster’ competition within the school to raise awareness of positive mental health strategies.

We look forward to the activities and promoting positive mental health in our school.
