St. Mary’s Student Council, which comprises of 12 members from 3rd to 6th class, were very busy this year meeting local politicians, working on school committees and participating in initiatives. They completed a project for the Arcadia Climate Awards where they came up with the idea of a St. Mary’s Swap Shop. A Swap Shop allowed pupils, teachers and parents to swap reusable items. Every item swapped was one less needlessly thrown away. The Student Council also created a website and presented their project at a presentation day in TUS for judges and other schools. It was an amazing day and St Mary’s won 2 Awards, Best Engagement by a school and Best Display and Presentation. It will be a day our Student Council will never forget.
