Celebrating Safer Internet Day 2025 at St. Mary’s
On February 11th, 2025, we proudly celebrated Safer Internet Day with a variety of fun and educational activities to help our students learn about staying safe online and acting responsibly in the digital world.
Children across all classes participated in engaging activities such as colouring tasks, Kahoot quizzes, storytelling sessions, and HTML Heroes SPHE lessons, all aimed at reinforcing key online safety messages. In addition, students explored Webwise Internet Safety resources, further enhancing their understanding of responsible digital behavior.
To mark the occasion and raise awareness, the children wore their Safer Internet Day badges proudly throughout the day, showing their commitment to being responsible digital citizens.
A special highlight of the day was the visit from Community Garda Stacey Looby from Athlone Garda Station, who kindly delivered an Internet Safety Talk to our 3rd class pupils. We extend a huge thank you to Garda Looby for sharing such valuable insights and helping our students develop responsible online habits.
At St. Mary’s, we remain committed to promoting digital safety and ensuring our students navigate the online world in a safe and respectful manner. Well done to all the children for their enthusiastic participation! 🎉💻✨
