Digital Fun in St. Mary’s!
At St Mary’s Primary School, we embrace digital technology to make learning more engaging, creative and fun! From iPads to interactive coding tools like Bee-Bots and Lego Spike Kits, our pupils have access to the latest technology to support them in their learning.
Bee-Bots: A First Step into Coding
Our more Junior pupils enjoy programming Bee-Bots – cute little robots that move with simple button presses. They learn to sequence commands, navigate mazes, solve fun challenges, develop and expand positional vocabulary, all while building confidence in their thinking skills. It’s a fantastic way to introduce coding in a way that feels like play!
LEGO SPIKE Kits: Creativity Meets Technology
For our more Senior pupils, Lego Spike Kits take learning to the next level. These sets let them build and program their own robots using motors and sensors. Whether designing a moving vehicle or a dancing robot, pupils work together to test and improve their creations, developing key skills like problem-solving and resilience.
Take a look at the pictures below to see our iPads, Bee Bots and Lego Spike Kits in action! We certainly have some budding engineers and innovators in our hands in St. Mary’s!
